Boy George has thanked fans for support after he failed to make it past the Eurovision 2026 semi-finals with San Marino act Senhit.
The 64-year-old teamed up with Italian singer Senhit for the song “Superstar”. The duo performed in the first semi-final on 12 May but were not voted through to Saturday night’s live final.
Writing on X after his disappointing result, Boy George said: “If you voted for us, thank you so much, I was sad we didn’t get through to the final but my Eurovision experience has been fabulous. I wouldn’t take a minute of it back.
“Thanks to Senhit and the entire San Marino delegation. What a fun bunch. We will perform together in Milan in July at the Culture Club show.”
Followers were quick to show their support, with one replying: “You both were brilliant, so sad to see you not make the final but you did brilliantly. Will be supporting Delta [Goodrem] on Thursday.”
Another said: “I thought it was a great performance, full of energy and glitz! So glad you’ve had a blast, George.”
A third commented: “Super proud of you George if only the UK was allowed to vote I’m sure you would have won and qualified for the finals.”
The UK could not vote in the first semi-final, as our act Look Mum No Computer was not performing. Instead, the UK can vote during Thursday’s (14 May) second semi-final.
Alongside San Marino, the other countries which failed to qualify were Portugal, Georgia, Montenegro and Estonia.
Meanwhile, Moldova, Sweden, Croatia, Greece, Finland, Israel, Belgium, Lithuania, Poland and Serbia qualified for the final. Germany and Italy also performed, though as they are part of the “big five” broadcasters, they automatically qualify.
