Ellen DeGeneres is returning to the world of acting to reprise her voice role of forgetful tang Dory, in a new Finding Nemo project.
Talk show legend DeGeneres voiced Dory in Finding Nemo in 2003, and then returned to the role for Finding Dory in 2016.
This will be the star’s first acting role (other than appearing as herself) in five years.
The project will be part of Pixar’s Finding Nemo universe, reports Deadline.
It will be a new short film, but plot details and release information are yet to be announced.
Ellen DeGeneres as Dory

Ellen DeGeneres’ first outing as everyone’s favourite forgetful fish Dory came in the 2003 Pixar film Finding Nemo.
The character, a regal tang, is known for her memory loss issues, as well as her fierce loyalty. She helps Nemo’s dad Marlin find the missing fish, exploring the ocean and ending up in Sydney.
The film became a global smash hit and grossed almost $950million worldwide. It also won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature in 2004.
Dory then got her own spin-off sequel film, Finding Dory, which was released in 2016.
Focusing on Dory, the film followed her as she tries to find her parents after being separated from them as a child.
DeGeneres has also voiced the fan-favourite character for attractions at Disney theme parks, other shorts and video games.
