Utah musician Skye Valadez deletes song appearing to predict Charlie Kirk’s death

The name of Utah musician Skye Valadez is circulating online due to claims that they predicted the death of Charlie Kirk.

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk died on Wednesday (10 September), aged 31, after being shot in the neck at an event at Utah Valley.

Charlie Kirk was discussing trans mass shootings – a transphobic, right-wing talking point and conspiracy theory – in the moments before he was shot.

“Do you know how many transgender Americans have been mass shooters over the last 10 years?” an audience member asked Kirk. “Too many,” Kirk replied.

In recent months, the right-wing conspiracy theory that trans people – who make up around just 0.6 per cent of the US population – are more likely to commit violent acts like mass shootings has been gaining popularity with conservatives, despite the fact it has been frequently disproven.

Figures from The Violence Project’s database of mass shootings – which collates data from the more than 190 mass shootings carried out since 1966 – has shown cis men, not trans people, are the biggest perpetrators of mass shootings and make up 97 per cent of mass public shooters.

A manhunt remains underway for the person who killed Kirk. The FBI is offering a reward of up to to $100,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the individual(s) responsible for the murder.

However, on social media, mainly Reddit and 4chan, speculation emerged around a now-deleted SoundCloud song titled “Charlie Kirk Dead at 31”.

Social media users claim that the song was uploaded in August 2025 by Utah-based digital artist, Skye Valadez, whose account was named “God’s Finest Scalpel”. There is no evidence linking Valadez to the assassination of Kirk.

According to reports, Valadez’s SoundCloud profile originally listed “Ogden, Utah, as the location” but it was later changed to “leave me alone” following the shooting and amid allegations that they were involved.

Despite there being no evidence that links Valadez to the crime, some social media users are claiming that they should be considered a person of interest in the case.

Authorities said that the suspect is believed to have fired from the roof of a building 200 yards way.

Footage released by the FBI shows a person wearing sunglasses, a baseball cap, and a sweatshirt with an American flag and eagle design.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox shared that more than 7,000 leads and tips have been submitted by the public –  the largest number the FBI has received on an incident since the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013.
