Real Housewives star says she has ‘proof’ she didn’t like anti-LGBTQ+ posts

The Real Housewives of Orange County star Gretchen Rossi claims to have proof that she hasn’t liked any anti-LGBTQ+ posts on social media.

During last week’s season 19 finale, Rossi was accused of having liked posts “disparaging towards the LGBTQ+ community.” She was confronted about the allegations during a dinner and initially batted them away saying: “That’s not like me at all.”

When co-star Heather Dubrow said Rossi was “intentionally liking hate rhetoric” the latter replied: “I don’t know that I was doing that.”

Dubrow has four children, three of whom are LGBTQ+, including youngest Ace, who is trans. “Why are you not horrified right now?” Dubrow asked.

Another of the housewives, Gina Kirschenheiter said: “It’s here, right? So, [Dubrow]’s going to need an explanation.” Rossi later told The US Sun that the “likes” were fake. “I firmly stand against any form of hatred and bigotry and have always fully supported the LGBTQ+ community,” she said.

Speaking alongside another co-star, Jennifer Pedranti, on The Real Housewives of Orange County After Show, Rossi asked: “How was I supposed to defend myself in that moment? In my heart, I’m like there’s no way I would have liked a post like that.”

According to Bravo, Rossi said the end of the season had left “a bad taste in my mouth”, adding: “I’m going to come to the reunion with the proof that this isn’t true. But it kind of makes me mad that I have to do that. Why don’t you prove to me that it is true?”

During the After Show other cast members commented on Rossi’s response to the accusations.

Emily Simpson said she expected “her reaction to be completely different”, adding: “If it was me, I would have been livid.

“There are a lot of positive things about Gretchen but I’m also very confused about what happened at the end and her standpoint and what’s true and what’s not. I hope to gain some kind of clarity as to who she is.”

In the trailer for the reunion, Gretchen claimed: “I spent thousands of dollars getting a cyber analysis on these posts. A lot of accounts were tied to [fellow cast member] Tamra [Judge].”

The three-part reunion is due to air on Bravo on 6, 13 and 20 November at 8pm eastern. Viewers in the UK can watch on NOW TV a day later.
