Celebrity Traitors confirms premiere date with first look at Tom Daley, Alan Carr and more

The Celebrity Traitors has confirmed its launch date with a first look at star-studded cast, containing a host of queer celebs, ready to deceive and backstab their way to the top.

After three seasons featuring regular civilians lying, murdering and bluffing their way to a cash prize, the doors to the iconic Traitors castle will soon be opened to some of the UK’s biggest celebs.

Once again set to be hosted by the nation’s favourite fringe-and-fake-tan-enthusiast Claudia Winkleman, The Celebrity Traitors has confirmed its premiere date (very soon) with a first look at the cast of nineteen stars.

The LGBTQ+ celebs glimpsed in the first look at the series include Olympian Tom Daley, comedian Alan Carr, singer Cat Burns, author and actor Stephen Fry and legendary sports commentator Clare Balding.

They’re joined by a veritable sweep of A-Listers, including rugby hunk and former England player Joe Marler, The Fall of the House of Usher star Ruth Codd, chat show host Jonathan Ross, singer Paloma Faith, actor Celia Imrie and more.

In a first look released by the BBC, Winkleman tells the Celebrity Traitors cast through her fringe: “Welcome, but don’t get comfortable. This game doesn’t care who you are. In here, your glamorous lives count for nothing.

“Most of you will be murdered. Sorry about that.”

The Celebrity Traitors cast is filled out by Charlotte Church, David Olusoga, Joe Wilkinson, Kate Garraway, Lucy Beaumont, Mark Bonnar, Nick Mohammed, Niko Omilana and Tameka Empson.

The Faithful and Traitors will still compete in challenges in order to build up a prize pot, but while the Faithful will aim to root the Traitors out to ensure a fair split between charities of each star’s choosing in the final episode, the Traitors will pick the Faithful off murder-by-murder.

If any Traitor remains in the final group, they will steal the prize pot for their own chosen charity – leaving the Faithful with nothing.

When does The Celebrity Traitors start?

As confirmed by the first look, The Celebrity Traitors premieres 8 October – just over two weeks away.

In a difference to the civilian version, The Celebrity Traitors will air twice weekly, rather than three, with episodes airing on Wednesdays and Thursdays for four weeks.

The premiere is expected to be a whopping 70 minutes long, and its finale will air 31 October, for an extra spooky Hallowe’en episode.

The Celebrity Traitors starts 8 October on BBC One. It will then be available on BBC iPlayer.
