Residents of Hell better get their ice scrapers ready after Asmongold just said he would respect his hypothetical trans child’s pronouns and identity.
The controversial right-wing Twitch streamer, known for his political commentary and gaming content, broke away from his usual anti-trans views to claim, were he to have a child who was trans, he would respect and support them.
After his viewers began throwing bigoted insults towards the community, the 35-year-old, whose real name is Zack Hoyt, stepped in to defend everyone’s rights to express their identity regardless of other people’s beliefs.
“Once they’re an adult, they would get to make adult choices and, at the end of the day, it would be more important for me to preserve the relationship that I have with my child than for me to uphold a viewpoint that is, to me, you know, really inconsequential,” he said.

The streamer, whose core audience is typically right-wing ‘incels‘, said that, once his child had reached adulthood, he would let them make their own decisions and wouldn’t care what gender they were because “that’s not what defines a human being.”
“Like, you have, at this point, 20 years of life experience with this person, this person is, you know – you made this person,” he continued. “Of course I wouldn’t throw that away over some f**king bulls**t pronoun thing. Absolutely not.”
The comments make a welcome change from the typically anti-trans, Trump-supporting streamer whose right-wing political views are almost has notorious as his hygiene.
In April, Hoyt made headlines after expressing his belief that trans childrens are the “victim” of parents with “mental illness.”
During a segment which was later posted to X/Twitter, he said, with no underlying evidence, that the majority of young trans children had been “groomed” by their parents and are being “fed a lot of propaganda.”
“[If] you’ve got a kid that’s 17, right? I mean it’s a little bit more… it’s like, not really as definitive. But, like, if you have a kid that’s like pre-puberty and they’re trans, your parents have a mental illness. That’s it.”
Asmongold defends himself from transphobic viewers
Hoyt refuted accusations that he was a ‘hypocrite’ for wanting to support his trans child, saying: “No, I’m not. I’m actually not. Like, I’m the only person that’s not a hypocrite.”
Responding to another viewer, who asked whether Hoyt would “call your son a she,” he said: “Yeah, sure. Yeah. Yeah, I would do it.
“I would probably say, like, are you sure that you feel this way? And I would try to help them get through their gender dysphoria as much as possible,” he argued. “But at the end of the road, if nothing else worked, I would.”
After seemingly suggesting he would subject his hypothetical trans child to so-called conversion practices, Asmongold said the relationship with his family would “matter more” than maintaining his anti-trans beliefs.
The sheer shock felt by online users bewildered that Asmongold got through a discussion on trans issues without using the term ‘mental illness’ was more than plain to see.
One Reddit user, responding to a clip of the discussion, said Hoyt’s comments were his “biggest W [win] in recent memory.”
“I don’t like Asmongold, but this is a very human reaction,” another user wrote. “He isn’t even talking about trans rights at all, he’s talking about wanting to love your children. Chat is arguing about [whether] they think it’s right or not, totally missing his point.”
