Fans are living for Lady Gaga’s Wednesday season two song ‘Dead Dance’

Fans have been reacting to “Dead Dance” the new song from Lady Gaga and the verdict is unanimous… everyone loves it!

“Dead Dance” dropped today (Wednesday 3 September) to coincide with the release of Netflix’s Wednesday season two part two. The series picks up with Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) in a coma after the events of the first half of season two.

In the song, which sonically sounds like it could belong on either the Chromatica or Mayhem albums, Gaga sings, “Like the words of a song, I hear you call / Like a thief in my head, you criminal / You stole my thoughts before I dreamed them / And you killed my queen with just one pawn.”

Then on the chorus she sings, “Yeah, I’ll keep on dancin’ until I’m dead / Dancin’ until I’m dead, I’m dancin’ until I’m dead.”

In a possible reference to Wednesday’s state at the beginning of episode 5, the lyrics continue: “‘Cause when you killed me inside, that’s when I came alive / Yeah, the music’s gonna bring mе back from death,”

Reacting to the song one person wrote on X/Twitter: “The Dead Dance DISCO PERFECTION. Lady Gaga the genius that you are.”

Commenting on the music video one person said, “POP MUSIC IS FUN WHEN LADY GAGA IS RELEASING.” The video will be released at 5pm UK time. Another added, “the queen of pop has returned,” with others praising Gaga as “The GODDESS of pop.”

As well as providing a song for Wednesday season two, Gaga also has a featured role. She appears as the mysterious Rosaline Rotwood. A character description from Netflix reads: “Mysterious and enigmatic, Rosaline Rotwood is a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday.” Netflix released a first look at Rotwood earlier this week.

Wednesday season two is streaming on Netflix now.
