Dancing with the Stars‘ Scott Hoying has announced that he and his husband are expecting their first child via surrogacy.
The Pentatonix star made the announcement on Tuesday (14 October) ahead of his latest turn on the DWTS dance floor.
During a video segment prior to his Dedication Week dance, which was in tribute to his partner, Mark, the pair told Rylee Arnold, Scott’s dance partner, “We’re having a baby.” Scott added, “Our surrogate is pregnant!” before later saying, “I just feel like we’re really, really lucky.”

The song Scott and Rylee danced to this week was called “Parallel” and was written by Scott to Mark. Scott is one fifth of the Grammy-award winning a cappella band, Pentatonix. The other members are Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Matt Sallee, and Kevin Olusola.
The couple also made an announcement on Instagram sharing a video of the moment they received the news. themselves. Scott and Mark stand in the kitchen as they check an update and hug each other tightly upon getting the news they’ve dreamed of.
“I’m gagged,” Scott says as well as “Finally.” Meanwhile, Mark manages to get out, “I can’t believe it” in between sobs.
As reported by People Scott and his partner, Mark, met in 2017 at a friend’s party. They soon began dating with the singer asking Mark to marry him a year later. They married in 2023.
The pair have worked together on children’s books and a children’s album. The pair told People in 2023 they were keen to have a “big ol’ family” which they have now started.
