The organisers of WorldPride in Washington, DC, could issue a travel warning for trans people who wish to travel to the US amid Donald Trump’s administration’s attack on the community.
Since being sworn-in as the 47th president of the United States on 20 January, Trump has enacted a series of anti-LGBTQ+ executive orders, many of which target the trans community.
Among the orders, Trump has declared the official policy of the United States is that there are “only two sexes”, banned trans people from serving in the military and restricted gender-affirming healthcare for trans people under the age 19.
In response, Capital Pride Alliance executive director Ryan Bos has warned that WorldPride may need to warn trans folks about travelling to the US.

“It’s possible that we may actually issue a statement telling trans folks internationally not to come, or if they come, they come at their own risk,” Bos said, as reported by NBC News.
Advocates for Trans Equality senior national organiser Devon Ojeda said: “This is something that my community faces every day, is worrying whether or not this space is gonna be safe for them.”
Ojeda added: “I also am in the mindset of always continuing to be in these spaces — to say I am trans, I am visible. You’re not going to take that away from me.”
