Serena Williams and Nike have teamed up to release a stunning, first-of-its-kind collection.
The two iconic names in sport have selected 10 emerging designers from underrepresented backgrounds to design a new clothing range.
Fans can get their hands on the range from 20 August if you’re a Nike member – which is free to sign up to – or from 1 September for the general public.

The Serena Williams Design Crew (SWDC) took inspiration from Williams’ life including her daughter’s OO initials, her 23 Grand Slam titles and West African kente-cloth-inspired prints with hidden S monograms.
These have been incorporated into apparel and footwear pieces including three classic Nike trainers – the Nike Court Legacy, Air Max Koko, and RYZ 365 2.
The trainers honour Williams’ gold medals with embellished Swooshes and playful patterns on navy and red pairs and black and white pairs.
The apparel pieces include track jackets, sweatpants, mesh jerseys, performance bras and shorts as well as a vibrant orange jumpsuit which Williams says is her favourite from the range.
Williams says she wanted to see “more diverse designers” when talking about the creation of SWDC in a Nike campaign video.
“We’re all different colours and we come from all sorts of different backgrounds, and we all think differently. All these things are going through my mind when I design,” she adds.
Williams goes on to discuss her own unique style on the court saying: “When you think of traditional tennis before myself and my sister really came along, it was just kind of basic silhouettes, like a top and a skirt.”
“When I step on the court I definitely want to stand out. We should be wearing dresses, or pants, or whatever that is. It just needs to be something that is a shock factor. It’s a performance,” she adds.
It’s also been confirmed that the second group selected for SWDC are working on their Serena-inspired line, while applications are open for the third group.
