The White Lotus star Patrick Schwarzenegger has shared his reaction to meeting the partner of a gay adult film star who has played his character from the show in the porn version.
Schwarzenegger, 31, played Saxon Ratliff on the third season of Mike White’s The White Lotus. Some of the more memorable scenes involving Saxon also involved his younger brother, Lochlan (Sam Nivola) and an much-talked-about ‘incest’ storyline.
And it’s that storyline that appears to her at the heart of a porn version titled The Tight Lotus.
Speaking to W Magazine Schwarzenegger said he’s had “some really weird experiences” since The White Lotus aired. “People coming up to me saying all sorts of crazy stuff.”
He then went on to recount a very recent experience with a male fan when he was at the gym with his friends.
“He came up to me and he said, ‘I loved your work in White Lotus, and I had to come up to you because my boyfriend just booked playing Saxon Ratliff in The Tight Lotus.
“I said, ‘What is that?’ And he was like, It’s Tight Lotus – it’s a new porno coming out!’. And I said, ‘Excuse me?!’. And he goes, ‘Yeah, he’s playing you.’ He’s depicting you. I was like, ‘Oh my god!’”
Produced by Men.com, The Tight Lotus stars adult performers Seth Peterson and Ryan Orion. A promotional image on the adult site’s Instagram feed playfully referenced Jennifer Coolidge’s beloved character from the series, declaring: “Tanya McQuoid would be so proud of how these gys are spending their time at The Tight Lotus”.
The White Lotus joins a long line of TV and film media celebrated with a porn version.
A synopsis on IMDb for the adult film reads: “Two young, fit party guys, abandoned by two party girls, carry on with each other in a room bathed in sensuous red light.”
The brothers’ storyline got a lot of attention as the series aired peaking in episode seven when Lochlan gave his older sibling a handjob while he was having sex with Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon)
The White Lotus producer David Bernad told the New York Post that the scenes weren’t “just for shock”. He also said that “there’s a specific reason in terms of the narrative storytelling, and the larger thematic idea Mike is trying to get across.”
