Miley Cyrus has assured fans she is safe after her plane was struck by lightning during a flight to Paraguay on Tuesday (March 22).
Miley and her entourage had to make an emergency landing after getting caught up in a violent storm while making their way to the country’s capital city, Asunción.
The pansexual hitmaker shared a video of the scary incident with fans on social media which featured passengers gasping in shock as lightning struck.
“To my fans and everyone worried after hearing about my flight to Asunción. Our plane was caught in a major unexpected storm and struck by lighting,” Miley Cyrus wrote.
“My crew, band, friends and family who were all traveling with me are safe after an emergency landing. We were unfortunately unable to fly into Paraguay.”

This was followed by a broken heart emoji and the statement: “I LOVE YOU”.

Her followers were quick to share their relief that the singer and her entourage were unharmed as one wrote: “WE LOVE YOU MILEY IM SO HAPPY THAT EVERYONE IS OKAY.”
“THANK GOD YOU ALL ARE SAFE ” another added.
One fan tweeted: “Glad everyone is safe now!!! So sad that Paraguay won’t be able to witness the Attention tour now but hope that there’s another opportunity in the future. You’re always welcome in South America.”
Asunción experienced extreme weather conditions on Tuesday, with high rainfall and flooding reported in the area.
On Twitter, the Asunciónico festival shared a statement announcing that the adverse weather conditions had forced the cancellation of the first day of the festival.
The event had been set to feature acts including Foo Fighters, Machine Gun Kelly and Doja Cat.
Miley Cyrus is currently travelling South America with her Attention tour and last took to the stage during Lollapalooza Argentina at the San Isidro race track on March 19.
