Mighty Hoopla 2025 to go ahead as planned despite court ruling

Good news – Mighty Hoopla 2025 is going ahead as planned in London at the end of this month. It follows a legal challenge as well as a High Court ruling in Hoopla’s favour.

Taking place on Saturday 31 May and Sunday 1 June 2025, the festival will see the likes of Kesha, Ciara, Loreen as well as Adore Delano top the bill. Joining them will be UK icon Jade will take to the MainStage on Saturday.

News that the queer favourite event will take place was confirmed on Monday (19 May) by Brockwell Live and then by the organisers of Mighty Hoopla themselves.

As per the BBC, a challenge was brought by a local resident to Brockwell Park, Rebekah Shaman. Her argument concerned the use of the park for multiple festivals.

Wide Awake festival kicks off the season on Friday (23 May). Brockwell Park has hosted Hoopla since 2018.

In a statement Mighty Hoopla said “we will be going ahead as planned on Saturday 31 May and Sunday 1 June 2025.”

“We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all,” organisers continued. They added they will “continue to work with Brockwell Live to ensure its upkeep is maintained to the highest standard for 2025 and beyond.”

They closed: “We look forward to seeing you all next week for a weekend like no other. MH x”

In a statement Brockwell Live said much the same.

“We take our stewardship of Brockwell Park seriously,” they then said. “As we prepare to deliver these much-loved, culturally significant events, we remain fully committed to its care, upkeep, and long-term wellbeing.

With setup nearly complete, we look forward to opening the gates and welcoming festival goers later this week.”

The legal challenge had caused some stirs among Hoopla-goers with some fearing the whole thing could be called off.
