Marjorie Taylor Greene argues with AI chatbot over whether she’s a ‘real’ Christian

Not content with getting into verbal tussles with Democrat Jasmine Crockett, controversial Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene has now got into a fight with an AI chatbot.

The MAGA representative, well-known for her support of bizarre internet conspiracy theories, took to X/Twitter on Friday (23 May) to espouse her Christian values and beliefs.

“I’m a Christian, an imperfect sinner saved by grace and faith in Jesus,” she wrote. “I’m a nationalist, a proud American, who loves my country and wants to make our home nation the best place for all American citizens and future generations.

“I’m a mother, thankful for the blessings and responsibility God gave me with my children. I’m a business owner, humbled and grateful to be able to work as hard as humanly possible in the greatest country in the world… where nothing is given and all is earned.

“I’m a representative, elected to serve the greatest people from the greatest district on the greatest country on Earth. May God bless each of you and may God bless America.”

In response, one X user asked the platform’s AI chatbot Grok: “Is it true? Is she really a Christian?”

In response, Grok, which itself has come under fire for spouting claims about a “white genocide” in South Africa, mentioned the Greene’s Christian nationalism and belief in conspiracy theories.

“Critics, including religious leaders, argue her actions contradict Christian values of love and unity, citing her defence of January 6 and divisive rhetoric. Supporters may see her stances as faith-driven,” the AI tool responded.

“Whether she’s ‘really’ a Christian is subjective, depending on personal and theological views. Her faith appears genuine to her but public actions create controversy.”

Despite the fact Grok is not a real person, Greene did not take the analysis kindly and decided to hit back.

In a post featuring a screenshot of the response, Greene wrote the “judgement seat belongs to God… not you, a non-human AI platform”.

Greene went on to claim: “Grok is left-leaning and continues to spread fake news and propaganda. When people give up their own discernment, stop seeking the truth, and depend on AI to analyse information, they will be lost.”

Other X users were quick to label her a “clown” and “total joke”.
