GTA VI’s new trailer has the gays behaving badly over its protagonist: ‘I can fix him’

The second trailer for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI has dropped and amidst the bank robberies, strippers, car chases and gun fights, the gays have got caught up with the game’s new protagonist.

Nearly 13 years after the release of GTA V, Grand Theft Auto VI is set for release in 2026, and will feature a female protagonist for the first time since the game’s original 1997 instalment.

The protagonist, by the name of Lucia Caminos, has been seen properly in the second trailer for the game, which dropped 6 May.

But, despite Lucia having plenty going on to make her a multi-faceted and satisfying character, it’s perhaps unsurprisingly the second playable protagonist that’s pulled focus for at least one demographic.

In the trailer, protagonist two, Jason Duval, is seen bench pressing on the beach (hairy chest on full display), driving around town with tattoos out, robbing a cash register and visiting prison to reunite with the Lucia. You know, the classic heartthrob kind of stuff.

And the gays are obsessed with – (read: really horny for) – him.

“Jason from GTA 6 would fix me,” one X user wrote above several screenshots of the character and two nodding emojis. Another replied by saying, “Raw, next topic.”

Another posed the most impossible question we’ve ever seen: “New Rihanna album or a night with Jason from GTA 6?”

“Jason confirmed as spankable” commented another poet.

Another fan asked what we all want to know about Jason: “I just wanna know if we can make him kiss guys,” and yet another player joked: “I’ll be playing GTA VI for the plot” alongside a sweaty pic of the character.

And as yet another player pointed out, it’s not like Lucia isn’t “damn fine” too – joking that the game is “truly … for the bisexuals.”

“Never played any GTA and instantly fall in love with that Jason guy,” another joked.

The official synopsis for GTA VI reads as follows: “Set in Vice City, Jason & Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them.

“But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”

Leonida is a thinly veiled game version of the famously sane state of Florida in the United States.

Despite the game’s gigantic following, previous instalments of the GTA franchise have not delivered all too well when it comes to LGBTQ+ representation.
