Drag Race legend Katya addresses possible All Stars return: ‘I have been approached’

RuPaul’s Drag Race star Katya has revealed that she has turned down the opportunity for a second go on All Stars ‘several times’.

Yekaterina Petrovna Zamolodchikova – but your Dad just calls her Katya.

The iconic RuPaul’s Drag Race queen first graced our screen on season 7 of the show in 2015, placing fifth, before returning just a year later and making the final of All Stars 2.

Though she missed out on the crown, she was a firm fan favourite, with fans almost immediately calling for her return. And now that some queens (cough, Ginger Minj, cough) have returned for three separate All Stars, is a Katya return on the cards?

Unfortunately, the answer seems to be a resounding no.

“I have been approached … I have been tapped [to go back to All Stars] and I have RSVP’d in the negative multiple times,” she told All Stars 2 winner and season four firebrand Willam on the pair’s podcast Race Chaser.

“I was either going to do a no-call, no-show,” she jokingly added. “I was just going to agree to go and then not call and not show up. That’s c*nty.”

Willam then chimed in, “You should send me. They won’t know.”

And while Katya won’t be on it, All Stars 10 kicks off tomorrow (9 May), with the first three episodes set to start the brand new ‘tournament’ format of the spinoff with the six queens in the orange group – Aja, Bosco, Deja Skye, Irene the Alien, Olivia Lux and Phoenix.

With team orange the first to enter the ring, team purple consists of Acid Betty, Alyssa Hunter, Cynthia Lee Fontaine, Daya Betty, Denali and Ginger Minj, while the pink sisters are Mistress Isabelle Brooks, Lydia B Kollins, Nicole Paige Brooks, Jorgeous, Tina Burner and Kerri Colby.

As a wise woman once said, “We can’t wait to see how this turns out.”

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10 will be available to stream on Paramount+ in the US and WOW Presents Plus internationally from 9 May.
