All Stars winner, drag titan and professional woman Trixie Mattel has announced another ‘little break’ from drag – but has also confirmed that she’ll be completing this long-requested RuPaul’s Drag Race-related project.
Trixie Mattel – makeup mogul, podcast host, winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season three and more – famously gave the rest of the girls a chance when she announced and undertook a several-month long break from the art of drag (and social media) in late 2024.
The icon took the hiatus due to health reasons, beginning her break in July and returning in late October, only talking to fans via pre-recorded materials (and one post on X giving mobile provider Verizon a piece of her mind).
And though Ms. Mattel has now been back in the saddle, and once again going from strength to strength (playing Coachella, for example), she has announced another “little break” scheduled for this summer.
“This summer I am going on another little break,” Trixie confirmed to frequent collaborator Katya on the pair’s 10 June episode of their podcast The Bald and The Beautiful. “Little menty b. Little menty b!”

But never fear, children, because mother would never leave us completely starved, as one Trixie Mattel then confirmed that she and Katya would be undertaking a long-requested RuPaul’s Drag Race project – a rewatch of the pair’s first TV appearances on season seven of the flagship franchise.
Though they both later appeared on All Stars, with Mattel winning and Katya placing as a runner up on the third and second seasons of the spinoff respectively, the pair competed together on Violet Chachki‘s victory season in 2015.
“To disengage from some of the workload of this, we have wanted to rewatch season seven and now that it’s ten years ago…” Trixie continued.
Katya then added, “And we’re going to do inside angle from a different perspective. We’re not gonna do, ‘Oh, I hated my…’ It’s going to be fresh.”
Trixie teased the content of the ‘rewatch’, adding “I don’t think we should recap it, but I do think we should touch on, ‘What do we remember about this episode, what do we not remember at all?’”
She captioned a clip of the podcast segment posted to X: “It’s finally time for a Season 7 rewatch! What do you want to know/who do you want to hear from? Let us know!”
It’s not clear whether Trixie and Katya will be embarking on this odyssey while Trixie is on her break, or before (or even after) – but we can’t wait to see how this turns out.
Also, Trixie, if you’re reading this, “Menty B” traditionally means ‘mental breakdown‘ rather than ‘mental health break’. So, do with that what you will, diva.
