RuPaul’s Drag Race‘s 17th season is steadily drawing to a close – but with its recent makeover challenge, Suzie Toot has broken a record previously held by Bianca Del Rio and Luxx Noir London.
The splashiest season yet of RuPaul’s Drag Race is breaking all kinds of records; it’s added another queen to the four-wins hall of fame, seen half the cast generate (maybe imaginary) beef with each other and arguably also holds the title for gaggiest mirror message.
But Suzie Toot, who became an early front-runner this season after winning its premiere episode with her nine tapping toes, has also just bested a record previously set by season six winner Bianca Del Rio, and then later matched by season 15 finalist Luxx Noir London.
Bianca Del Rio managed to last a whopping 12 episodes on her 2014 season without placing below the ‘safe’ category, meaning that she was neither in the bottom two, or even the third ‘low’ placement of the week (though it’s worth noting that this 12-episode streak only ended because so did the season).
Luxx managed the same, but fell into the bottom two to send Loosey LaDuca packing after a makeover challenge in season 15’s thirteenth episode.
Florida-based Suzie Toot, however, has managed to beat the pair by one, lasting a whopping thirteen weeks without ever placing below ‘safe’, with a track record that includes two wins and four ‘high’ placements.

Suzie was ‘safe’/ ‘high’ for this week’s makeover challenge, which saw Sam Star take her third win and frontrunner Onya Nurve land in the bottom two for the first time. The latter faced off against Jewels Sparkles in an instantly iconic lipsync that resulted in season 17’s first (and presumably only) double shantay (save).
Suzie and Lexi Love are the only season 17 Drag Race queens of the top five to have not lip-synced for their life.
Next week’s challenge also promised to eliminate “at least one” of the group before the finale with an audition for Drag Race Live!, so we can’t wait to see how this turns out…
New episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 17 air on Fridays on MTV in the US and WOWPresents Plus internationally.
