JoJo Siwa prompts hilarious reaction on Celebrity Big Brother: ‘This is why we invented televised broadcasting’

JoJo Siwa has entered the Celebrity Big Brother 2025 house, people! And the star has prompted an intense fan reaction just moments after her arrival. 

After doubling down on her “gay pop” creator claims in her introductory video for the reality series, the singer-come-influencer has officially joined Celebrity Big Brother for its return to ITV and ITVX on Monday (7 April). 

The queer pop sensation has made waves, however, for perhaps how out of touch she’s proving to be when teaming up with a bunch of British TV greats on the series. Also on the series is former Love Islander Chris Hughes, 80s pop star Chesney Hawkes, EastEnders’ Patsy Palmer, 90s and early 2000s talk show host Trisha Goddard and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner Danny Beard, to name but a few.

“JoJo Siwa interacting with British TV personalities is going to be gold TV. This is why we invented televised broadcasting,” one viewer wrote on X (formerly Twitter). 

Another wrote: “Jojo Siwa in the big brother house not knowing who anyone is, Trisha knowing everything about everyone, Mother DJ Patsy Palmer getting the best reception and Michael Fabricant getting destroyed by the crowd. Oh we are so back #CBBUK.”

A third posted the viral meme of Robert Pattinson standing awkwardly in a kitchen (you know the one) and added: “JoJo Siwa when all the Brits are greeting each other on arrival #CBBUK.”

A fourth person shared an image of Siwa hugging Coronation Street actor Jack P. Shepard (known for his role of David Platt), which looks like it belongs in another dimension. “David Platt and JoJo Siwa. This is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen #cbbuk.”

“I feel so bad for JoJo Siwa these B/C list UK celebrities are meeting each other with so much knowledge and past linkages to each other and here she is #CBBUK,” another onlooker added.

Who is JoJo Siwa?

If you haven’t had the pleasure of getting to know JoJo Siwa before she entered Celebrity Big Brother, let us break it down for you.

The 21-year-old first rose to fame on the Lifetime reality series Dance Moms, which ran from 2011 to 2019. She quickly became an LGBTQ+ role model when she came out as gay in January 2021 and later clarified that she identifies as a lesbian.

Siwa has cemented herself as a queer pop superstar after releasing her grown-up single “Karma” in 2024  – even going as far to say that she invented “a new genre of music…gay pop”. 

She went on to headline Miami Beach Pride later that year and reportedly broke audience records with her turnout. She has also performed at NYC Pride and LA Pride in the Park.
