JoJo Siwa has confirmed her relationship with Love Island star Chris Hughes, describing herself as “head over heels” for him.
The “Karma” singer met horse racing pundit Hughes during their stint on ITV’s Celebrity Big Brother back in April, where they formed an intense bond.
Since leaving the Big Brother house, the pair have been spotted together on numerous occasions, but had rebutted suggestions that their relationship was romantic – until now.
In a new interview with The Guardian, 22-year-old Siwa confirmed that her relationship with 32-year-old Hughes is no longer “platonic”.
After the interviewer suggested that Siwa was smiling ear to ear, Siwa said: “I am…because we… we… we have…” before taking a “20 second” pause.
“It’s not platonic any more, and it’s been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I’m absolutely head over heels for him and he’s the same way,” she eventually said of her romance with Hughes.
While Siwa previously identified as a lesbian, she spoke during her time on Celebrity Big Brother about feeling more “queer”.
She reaffirmed during her chat with The Guardian that she now identifies her sexuality as “queer” as the term “encompasses how I am, and who I am”.
“There’s a lot of different sexual identities. I think there’s nothing more beautiful than somebody discovering themselves,” she added.

Yet Siwa has no time for those who believe her romance with Hughes is more of a showmance.
“Clearly, you’ve never been around us,” Siwa said, addressing those who believe their romance is a PR stunt.
“I won’t ever speak for him, but for me personally, the happiness in my life just radiates off of me right now. Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks; I’ve never [before] been in pain from smiling so much.”
She continued: “I do live this very, very big public life that has so many eyeballs on it, and it can get really hard to navigate. But I’m also living a human life. You can’t help who you love.”
Rumours of Siwa and Hughes’ romance had hotted up over the past week, thanks to a slew of snuggly selfies and sweet song dedications.
Over the weekend, Hughes shared a photo on Snapchat of the pair shirtless in bed, cuddling, alongside the caption: “Sleeepinnn beauty.”
Last week, while performing in London, Siwa dedicated a performance of Kim Carnes’ “Bette Davis Eyes” to Hughes, changing the lyrics to: “Chris Hughes’ Eyes”.
