Jennifer Coolidge has cemented herself as a queer supporter once again, this time explaining why she loves the gays in a viral interview.
The White Lotus star and all-around Mother attended The Tryst Puerto Vallarta: Opening Night Party in Mexico, where she affirmed her support for the LGBTQ+ community once again.
During a conversation with People, the reporter asked, “How is the gay fan base different from any other fan base? What do you love about having them love you so much?”
To this, Coolidge responded, “I think heterosexual people are more self-conscious. I think gay men and gay women just let loose and have a blast. They know how to have a really good, really fun time, and they’re really original.
“They’re a superior group of people.”
Fans were quick to respond to Coolidge’s response, with one commenting, “Jennifer Coolidge only speaks the truth.”
“So well said,” another noted, while a third penned: “We love you queen.”
“And mama said it right there,” commented a fourth, while a fifth wrote, “I knew there’s a reason why I love you.”

Last year, Coolidge thanked “all the evil gays” in her Emmy’s acceptance speech after receiving an award for her performance in The White Lotus. “I want to thank all the evil gays,” she said at the time, prompting laughter from the audience by referencing one of Tanya’s most memorable lines from the HBO series: “These gays – they’re trying to murder me.”
Meanwhile, at the 2023 GLAAD Awards, the actress noted that “the story of my life” is being “surrounded by gays” during an impactful acceptance speech. “I have so much respect for the LGBTQ+ community, and just want you all to know that I love you and I thank you for always being there for me, and that’s why I’m here because I want to give back,” Coolidge said at the time.
“I believe that we all have the right to be who we are and to love the people who we love and tell our stories and celebrate that in every way that we can – and that’s really what the GLAAD Media Awards are all about.”
