Heartstopper star Kit Connor is reportedly being eyed to star in the live-action film adaptation of hit role-playing game Elden Ring.
According to Variety, the film’s director Alex Garland is considering teaming up with Connor again, after the actor recently starred in Garland’s Iraq War film, Warfare.
Garland is confirmed to be writing and directing the Elden Ring adaptation, which will be produced by the ever-popular film production company A24.
Elden Ring was released to universal acclaim back in 2022. The fantasy-action game is written by George R. R. Martin, the man behind the novel series A Song of Ice and Fire, which was adapted into HBO’s 59-time Emmy Award winning TV series, Game of Thrones.

The game is set in a dark, expansive and ravaged fantasy world named ‘The Lands Between’, with players appearing as a player-created character dubbed ‘The Tarnished’.
‘The Tarnished’ explores the open world, which includes ruins and dungeons, slaying an abundance of monsters in the process.
Elden Ring is directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki and developed and published by Japanese video game developer FromSoftware. As an open world venture, Elden Ring marks a departure from FromSoftware’s typically linear story-telling approach.
It has been awarded dozens of awards, including two BAFTA Games Awards and six The Game Awards, and was named ‘Game of the Year’ by over 300 publications and gaming events.
By April this year, the game had sold 30 million copies worldwide. A spin-off and prequel game, Elden Ring Nightreign was released earlier this week (29 May).
Last year, Elden Gate was included in a video game curation page which listed games deemed to feature so-called “woke content”. According to the creator of the list, the game features “overtly pro-LGBTQ+ messaging”.

Though there is no confirmation of Kit Connor’s involvement in the film, if he were to sign onto the project, it’s likely that his public profile would grow greatly owing to the game’s popularity.
Connor rose to international fame playing bisexual rugby player and student Nick Nelson in Alice Oseman’s Heartstopper, adapted for Netflix in 2022. Heartstopper is confirmed to end with a feature-length film, which will begin filming this summer.
In addition to starring in Garland’s Warfare, the actor also recently starred alongside Snow White actress Rachel Zegler in a new Broadway adaptation of Romeo + Juliet.
