Heartstopper star Bel Priestley is the face of Garnier’s new Pride campaign.

The TikToker-come-actress, who plays Naomi in Alice Oseman’s queer teen drama, looks radiant in Garnier’s Pride campaign for its micellar cleansing water.

In the advert, the trans influencer shares a powerful message of self-love, she says: “If I could tell my younger self one thing, it would be with each and everyday, you will be more comfortable and more proud to be exactly who you are.”

She adds: “Don’t let anyone change your view of yourself. Remove your make-up, never your pride.”

In May, Priestley opened up about dating as a trans women, saying that “it’s still really shunned upon to date a trans woman”.

“I think people still think you’re gay,” she said, adding: ““A lot of guys are happy to have a one-night stand with me, not that I do that too often anymore, people don’t want to date you or don’t want to be seen out with you. I think that’s a really difficult thing.”

Bel Priestley came out as trans at the age of 13, and previously said that being bullied at school led her to want to be a role model for other transgender youngsters.

She has been open about navigating her gender-affirmation journey, including documenting her voice feminisation surgery recovery

In response to the UK Supreme Court’s ruling that the definition of ‘sex’ – and by extension womanhood – excludes trans women, Priestly spoke out, calling the decision out as a “heartbreaking situation”.
