Graham Norton is now a Roblox character – and it’s all because of Eurovision

Graham Norton is many things – LGBTQ+ icon, TV and radio presenter, author, and now a video game character thanks to a cross over between Roblox and Eurovision. Yes, you read that right, the Eurovision commentator has stepped over into the gaming world.

Eurovision confirmed the crossover launching the first official Eurovision Song Contest experience on Roblox, My Eurovision Party 2025.

The platform offers fans the chance to play games, collect ‘Eurohearts,’ and perform iconic Eurovision songs and dances to create their own watch parties in the game.

Then, during the live shows on Tuesday 13 May, Thursday 15 May, and Saturday 17 May, the game the game will become a second-screen companion with real-time updates, performance highlights and in-game celebrations.

Localised versions of the ‘experience’ (a term used in Roblox to refer to the games players can create using the Roblox Studio engine) are different depending on where the user is. For example, UK-based players can see an avatar of Graham Norton as well as other bespoke elements.

The BBC promoted the crossover between Roblox and Eurovision by posting a short clip showing off Graham’s avatar. Seen in a pink blazer with a black shirt and trousers and grey hair, Graham says. ‘Hello world! Welcome to my Eurovision Party 2025.”

But some fans have questioned the avatar’s likeness of the legendary broadcaster. One person wrote: “Why has it turned Graham Norton into Lord Sugar? Perhaps it’s an Apprentice x Eurovision remix?”. Meanwhile another seemed to think the avatar looked more like “Noel Edmonds!”.

Someone else typed: “I am 300% sure Graham has no idea what Roblox is.” This we can get on board with, especially as the audio of the line quoted above doesn’t exactly sound like studio quality.

Discussing the partnership between Roblox and Eurovision, Martin Green, the Director of the Eurovision Song Contest, said it “opens a new chapter in the Eurovision Song Contest universe.”

He continued: “We’re bringing the joyful spirit of the world’s largest live music event to a platform where millions of young people already connect, have fun and express themselves.”

The experience will be available until the 30 May, so will last a while after Eurovision itself. It has also been built with “robust safety framework,” according to Eurovision, including friends-only chat, live moderation, and ESG-compliant risk protocols.

Roblox has an average of more than 97 million daily active users.

In the real world, Graham Norton will be providing live commentary of the Grand-Final on Saturday 17 May from 8pm on BBC One and the iPlayer.

Rylan and Scott Mills will do the same for the two live semi-finals on Tuesday 13 May and Thursday 15 May.
