Gay Twitter is making this joke about James Gunn’s Superman after new look

After a first look at a scene between Superman and Lex Luthor in James Gunn’s Superman, Gay Twitter has unfortunately decided that the film ‘looks like a gay porn parody’.

Yet another reboot later, and the beloved comic book Kryptonian is flying back to the big screen, this time portrayed by Hollywood heartthrob David Corenswet, in James Gunn’s Superman.

He’ll be joined this time by X-Men star Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and The Last of Us‘s Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl.

But after a few trailers, the marketing for Superman, which will be released 11 July in the United States (just a few weeks before Marvel’s Fantastic Four), has taken quite a sharp left turn thanks to Gay Twitter. Namely, because according to a few of them, one specific scene from the film looks “like a gay porn parody”.

The claim was prompted by a new look at Corenswet’s Superman in his tight blue lycra fit and Hoult’s bald baddie, as shared exclusively by Entertainment Weekly.

The snap was then shared to X (formerly Twitter) by popular film update account @DiscussingFilm – where one user wrote, “This looks like a gay porn parody,” to the tune of 12.8 million impressions, according to X’s metrics.

And, as the user, who goes by the name of @matticure, wrote, he is well qualified to make the claim, adding, “‘How do you know what it looks like’ bruh I do gay porn. I’ve made it.”

The image, which appears to show Luthor and Superman in the former’s office during some sort of confrontation, has apparently has, “massive gay porn vibes,” according to one user, and a “looks like Men.com video” – a popular gay adult entertainment site – according to another.

“I’ve seen enough films to know where this is going,” another joked.

And yet another added, “Looks like the start of a gay porno.”

Despite the Gay Twitter chatter, Superman is distinctly not a gay porn parody, and features Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan and Nathan Fillion alongside its leads.

The plot, while largely under wraps, sees the titular hero battle with balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his adoptive human family, while going up against Lex Luthor and the other baddies seen in several trailers.

And for anyone actually wanting a Superman gay porn parody, we’re sure they’re out there. We’ve heard.
