Doja Cat has gone viral after saying she threw away a fan’s “musty” Pride vest.

The “Paint The Town Red” singer is facing backlash after she shared that she thew away a Pride vest gifted to her by TikToker Pablo Tamayo. 

Tamayo met the “Say So” singer and gifted her with a shirt he was wearing bearing the words ‘Hot boys kiss boys’. While Doja Cat appeared to like receiving the white tank in the moment, she took to social media later to clarify that the exchange had made her uncomfortable.

Taking to X, she wrote that she “threw that musty shirt away”. 

In the since-deleted post, she added that she told him, “don’t touch me and manhandle me when you don’t even know me. And he didn’t even know my name”. 

Tamayo has used the exposure to promote his slogan tops on social media and it appears a lot of people want one. 

“That will be a best seller,” one person commented of the “Musty Ass Shirt” slogan vest top. 

Another wrote, “Low key want one,” while another commented, “prime example of turning lemons into lemonade I respect the hustle”. 

Comments under the clip of Tamayo handing Doja Cat the vest top on Instagram hit out at the singer for “blasting” him online.

A comment with more than 700 likes reads: “Ummm, when I first saw this video I thought it was a cute fan interaction but that girl was wrong putting you on blast like that. I’m sorry that happened to you.” 

Another wrote: “Her actually saying “you smell great” and then calling the shirt musty is a wild switch up.” 

“She literally said ‘you smell great’ insane,” another user wrote of the star’s hypocrisy.

In May, the 29-year-old, whose real name is Amala Dlamini, addressed a plastic surgery mishap after her contracted breast implant was visible in a dress she wore at an awards show. Fans were mostly unbothered.
