Birmingham Pride 2025 line-up includes five UK chart-topping acts

Birmingham Pride 2025 aims to offer a safe space for the community to come together. The event, first held in 1997, has become one of the biggest LGBTQ+ festivals in the UK, attracting more than 40,000 people over the course of the weekend. 

Here’s everything you need to know for this year’s celebration.


When is Birmingham Pride 2025? 

Birmingham Pride will host a free community event at its main site, Smithfield Live, on Friday (23 May) and will feature a candlelit vigil. The parade will take place the following day, starting from Centenary Square at midday. 

The party will continue with various events being held in The Gay Village on Sunday (25 May).

What is the parade route? 

Starting from Centenary Square, in the heart of the city, the parade will make its way down New Street and High Street, turning on to Carrs Lane, Smallbrook Queensway, and into the Gay Village on Hurst Street – a distance of about 1.5 miles.


Are there any road closures? 

According to Transport for West Midlands, there will be road closures in Broad Street, Centenary Square, Carrs Lane, Moor Street, St Martin’s Queensway tunnel, Smallbrook Queensway and Hurst Street. Some buses will be diverted, with temporary stops in place. There will be no trams to or from Edgbaston Village between 8am and 2pm.

Who will be performing? 

Clean Bandit, Cascada, The Wanted and The Saturday’s Una Healy will appear on the main stage on Saturday (24 May) while Sunday’s highlights include performances by Bananarama, Vengaboys, Alexandra Burke and former Steps member Claire Richards. 

The Glamorous Stage, situated on Kent Street, will feature drag and cabaret acts from 3pm.
