Trans trailblazing model Alex Consani and mother of pop Madonna celebrated Trans Day of Visibility by appearing at a fashion show fundraiser to benefit the Trans Justice Funding Project.
Held in New York City on 29 March and with appearances by internet icon and model Alex Consani and global superstar Madonna, the Mother, Daughter, Holy Spirit fashion show fundraiser has helped bring awareness and support to community-led organisation the Trans Justice Funding Project.
The event featured (as per Rolling Stone) appearances from the pair, with both celebs also taking to social media to remind their fans of the importance of Trans Day of Visibility.
Consani wrote, “Happy trans day of visibility,” above a photo of the model as a young child on her social media.
“It’s important, now more than ever to remind ourselves how beautiful, powerful, and creative our community is,” she wrote.
“We must lead with love and understanding, even when those around us don’t care to do the same. Listen to the trans people around you, give them love and let them know they are heard.”
She concluded, “Support is the first step of change, and it must happen because we are not going anywhere… ever!”

In Consani’s later Instagram Story, she reposted Madonna’s tribute to the evening, which featured a picture of the pair, as well as snaps of the “Like a Prayer” songstress with Julia Fox, Connie Fleming and fundraiser organisers Bobbi Salvör Menuez and John Mollett.
“We celebrated this weekend by attending a fashion show called, MOTHER -DAUGHTER-HOLY SPIRIT!! All money raised will go to the Trans Justice Funding Project!” Madonna told fans. “Thank you, to All for showing up.”
The Trans Justice Funding Project’s mission is to “support grassroots, trans justice groups run by and for trans people in the United States, including U.S. territories.”
Consani, who is known equally for demolishing runways and making viral TikTok videos, made history in 2024 by becoming the first out trans woman to win Model of the Year at the Fashion Awards.
Other celebrities to celebrate Trans Day of Visibility this year include Kelly Clarkson and trans filmmaker Jake Graf.
